“I am incredibly saddened to hear that Shaun Burton has been named as the East Midlands Railway colleague who lost his life in the tragic incident on Friday afternoon.

“This is a truly devastating moment for us all, and my most heartfelt condolences go out to Shaun's loved ones at this unimaginably difficult time.

“I know Shaun was a valued member of the railway industry, and he will be missed by all.

“The entire team at Transport UK and East Midlands Railway will do everything in our power to identify the causes of the incident and ensure this can never happen again.”
